After Napster, many music lowers started to panic; they feared that they would never be able to download free music anymore. Fortunately form them, their fear was completely unnecessary because lineups of other options of free music downloads appeared in addition to those that already had been on the web, even before Napster verdict. Today there are lots of music download sites both for paid and free downloads. However, the market is dominated by a few websites that are preferred by most music lowers as a source of music. One of these are Limewire.
After reviewing other so called free download sites, the Limewire free music download software almost meets all the criteria of the pre-Napster disaster. Limewire declares itself as a peer-to-peer software which allows you to share commonly held audio, video, photos and software between two servers or computers. This even means downloads, as long as you have a legal license or if you don’t care about a license. You can do this without a subscription until you upgrade to Limewire Pro which is a meager $18.85. This upgrade allows faster download and uploads. It segregates binary material by the speed of the internet connection, T1, T3, DSL/Cable, or Modem. You can separate material on the basis of adult and other movie rating criteria.
Limewire is a file sharing application developed in the Java programming language. It is open code and open ware produced by the GNU General Public License and used on the Gnutella network. After Napster vs. RIAA defeat in the USA; Canada, France and Holland have rendered solid findings against the RIAA position.
The French Parliament voted to allow peer-to-peer sharing of internet software, audio, graphic and video media. The Dutch Court ruled in the Kazaa BV vs. Burma/Stemra case that file-trading developers were not liable for copyright infringement. Canada holds that peer-to-peer file trading falls under the copyright extension of the original owner and is therefore legal and acceptable. RIAA won its case through an unproven premise; RIAA claimed that it had lost CD sales because too many college students and others were obtaining free music on the internet through such companies as the Napster. The Canadian based, Toronto Star published in 11/29/2004 that the decline in CD sales was only 9%.
This they attributed to the increase in sales and popularity of the DVD. It appears from this position that free music downloads will continue in Canada and elsewhere, even if it doesn’t in the USA.

So many players want to record guitar playing on their computer. Digital recording is more popular than ever for pros and amateurs alike. But there are some things to be considered when you connect a guitar to a computer; mostly how you want to connect the instrument, and the quality of the recording you hope to capture. The type of guitar computer interface you choose will greatly affect the sound of the electric guitar through the computer and the overall recording you can expect.
While it is possible to play guitar through a PC just by plugging it in, this basic approach is likely to be fine for most though many players don’t like sacrificing a good sound for the ease of quick setup. Electric players need a ‘high impedance’ input to get their electric guitar to connect to a computer, and though most computer soundcards come with high impedance inputs, these inputs are usually not strong enough to get a good guitar signal or in the long run, for recording guitar effects for PC. This lower ‘impedance’ can cause noise problems too. A player can avoid all this of course by plugging the guitar into a ‘line-in’ jack, instead of the ‘mic-in’, but then the all-important preamp is needed.
Almost any one attempting to connect a guitar through their computer or familiar with recording a guitar into a mixing consol should be familiar with a preamp. The preamp does exactly what its name implies, it “amps” the signal before it goes into the plug-in. Therefore your guitar’s signal will get that extra boost it needs when you record guitar on a pc…or into any other device that is not an amp. There are plenty of external interfaces that combine computer soundcards with a preamp. Or if you like more components to you set-up you can always buy a preamp separate from your sound card. There are a lot of stand-alone vintage preamps out there that will not only boost your signal, but warm your sound before it goes into the ‘cooler’ digital domain of your pc.
It’s not only the pristine quality of digital that makes recording guitar on a pc so much fun, it is also portability. With very little equipment you can put down a riff (or an entire song actually) into a laptop! And added to all this wonderful technology is the fact that there are so many recording guitar effects for pc now on the market, a player can access different amp sounds and settings, effects. Well after you have wrestled with how to connect a guitar to your pc and have recorded a strong signal, you can call record guitar effects with pc during recording or in post-production.
Of course information about how to connect your guitar to a pc and the wonderful wide world of effects is available through an on-line pc guitar tutor and websites devoted to digital recording. You can even purchase a computer guitar tuner (some programs include a free computer guitar tuner) so everything you will ever need is self-contained in your rockin’ pc! Some players are even recording parts, then downloading and sending these pieces of tunes to musician’s half-way across the world.
The possibilities really are unlimited for the guitar player who says: “I want to connect a guitar to my pc”; he or she will be amazed at the varied and easy results they can achieve when they simply start recording guitar on a pc.

YouTube was “born” from the creative minds of former PayPal employees. it first became active on February 15, 2005 . As you can see, despite its enormous success the site is still in its infancy.
The start-up found funding in the form of venture capital from Sequioa Capital, raising $3.5 million dollars for the site. The venture capital firm later invested another $8million dollars into the company, helping spur its popularity during the last year and a half. This just shows you how attractive YouTube’s business model was and how many people instantly recognized the promise this site had to offer.
Today many refer to YouTube as the, “fastest growing website on the web.”
Over 100 million visitors watch clips each day. By some reports, over 60,000 people upload videos within a single day. YouTube did however face many copyright infringement lawsuits, which is one reason it agreed to the huge settlement deal with Google.
YouTube restricts individuals from sending material with known copyrights. Therefore, NBC was among the first to ask them to remove clips of material including material from the 2006 Olympics, obviously uploaded to the site. YouTube imposed several extra cautionary measures, including limiting video clips to a brief 10-minute tape. This lessened much of NBCs concerns, but added to their popularity.
YouTube, like many Web 2.0, sites is much more than a site allowing individuals to share video clips. It is a place for public commentary, a place where people can review the latest and greatest info products, a place where people can network and share common interests, goals, and opportunities.
Just like many popular sites, registered members can rate videos, or find out how many times other people link to a video clip for their viewing pleasure. YouTube provides and publishes this information for your convenience, for its loyal fans.
Web 2.0 offers many cost-effective ways of promoting your website and You Tube is no different. And that’s just one part of YouTubing. It is also one of the most fun ways of promoting your website. There is music, there is video, there is creativity, and there is marketing. A terrific mix, isn’t it?
If you have uploaded your own video, get your friends and family members to view it and rate it. Nothing works like a five star rating. Ask them to chip in with a few good comments as well. The biggest mistake is to assume that uploading a video is the end of it. It needs a lot of promotion to make your video visible.
Many major media moguls now provide content willingly to YouTube. Among them include CBS, Sony BMG and even Warner productions.
